We provide services in the following areas:
You want to find out more about your ancestors. What was/is unique about your family’s past generations? Where did they come from? How did they get here? What were their traditions? What medical issues did they have? We each are connected to our ancestors in an intimate way and learning about them will help us learn about ourselves in the process. Looking back just 8 generations, your family tree contains 128 grandparents.
It takes time (for many, even years) to research and document that many ancestors. AND, then there are the road blocks. Ancestors you find little or no information about. Most amateur family researchers start out with allot of enthusiasm about finding out more about their ancestors. Unfortunately though that enthusiasm can be one of the first pitfalls of the amateur as they become overwhelmed by the "thrill of the hunt." Charging ahead to find the next source or following up on the latest piece of information found before fully and properly recording and analyzing the information you have is what separates the amateur from the professional.
Properly recording where, when, why a search was made, the results of that search and influence the information has on the conclusions you draw about your family is most important. Careful analysis is the foundation of accurate research and then proper documentation is the key to good recording and reporting of the information collected.
One of the most rewarding aspects of family history research is finding from where and when your ancestors immigrated to the United States. Most family history buffs are eager to learn more about where their ancestors came from. This also presents many challenges to the researcher. Those challenges include finding where records are stored and then being able to read or translate those records. You will need to find the country of origin, the port of demarcation, the name of the ship they crossed the ocean on, and the arrival port the ancestor entered into the United States. This can be a daunting task for many amateur family researcher because they do not have access to the major records archives.
One of the lesser know aspects to genealogy research is finding information on missing heirs and estate research for law firms and estate administrators and trustees. We can help identify and document the connection to a decedent. We can locate family members in the United States.
